Before The Land became filled with Monsters and Demons

In the tale, The Softbearer's Wise Tale:

It was explained that this world was once protected by Divine Spirits, Fae of the Wind Spirits, and Tereh'zek, The Balancer of Beings. When they found out that Yylven had given humans Divine Artifacts, they seized him of his powers, giving him 1,000 extra years to live due to his significance. However, during those years, he developed his own power without the use of these Divine Artifacts, summoning demons from a realm called Inferno's Qualm.

We call this pivotal moment in time BD, or Before Demons, where everything was amok.

After the Star Spirits came to clean up the mess, they sealed the demons away before looking for Yylven, to send him to Hell for the suffering he caused. Before he could be captured, he placed a curse on the world that couldn't be removed. A Binding Curse of Inferno's Qualm, that allows demons to travel in and out.

When the Spirits found out he did this, they killed him, trying to undo the curse, but could not. It was bound strongly to the world, unable to be removed.

Approximately around this time was when the world shifted into AD, or After Demons. Even when they tried to stop these creatures from wreaking havoc, they finally realized that they were fed up with this conflict, resulting for humans to fix this problem.

So they left the planet of Vijölnfír to fend for itself.
